Enduring a loss is a universal experience that most humans will go through at some point in their life. Though we all experience loss, how we mourn, what we feel, and how we process that loss are all a little bit different and unique to the individual themselves.
Understanding the unique experience that comes with our various losses means that we also have unique appreciations for how we want to remember people. This uniqueness is what makes cremation keepsakes such a wonderful memento of our loved ones and family members.
Cremation keepsake urns are small tokens or even miniature urns that carry a portion of ashes from a cremation. They come in a variety of shapes and sizes, so they can be selectively tailored to suit your personal and individual needs. There’s a certain special beauty and significance in the selectiveness and the size of these exquisite pieces.
In life, we share our love for our friends and family. We aren’t loved by just one person, and we don’t love just one person. It’s a beautiful part of being human. By that thought, it only makes sense that at the saddening loss of a family member or friend, we share in the mourning of that individual. Keepsake urns are a wonderful means of sharing in the ashes, as we share in our sadness. Since keepsake urns are smaller, they allow the ashes to be shared amongst multiple people.
Perhaps you and your grandfather shared the love for birds and went for bird watching trips every weekend, you might want to preserve some ashes in a bird shaped keepsake, reminding you of the beautiful memories shared during those trips. At the same time, your grandmother remembers him for the strong bond of love she shared with him and prefers a small and intimate heart shaped cremation keepsake. Cremation keepsakes allow for family members to personalize their portion of ashes in the most special and unique way for them.
Cremation keepsakes are a wonderful way to share the ashes, and no one has to argue over who gets to have the pieces rest no their mantlepiece or bedside table. The variety of pieces offered in these collections means there is also so much versatility in the best and most appropriate placement of these special pieces. A cremation keepsake lamp might be best placed at one’s bedside, giving them a thought of remembrance as they switch it off to fall asleep each night. Other’s might love to place a delicate and subtle Heart Cremation Keepsake on the tableside in the living room. And even still, some might prefer to place the smaller, more intimate and traditional urns on their mantle above the fireplace.
Another common use comes when the ashes have later decided to be shared. For example, a mother kept the ashes of her husband for years, and then passes away herself. Their children might love the thought of being able to share those ashes, rather than just have them inherited by one. Cremation keepsakes can even be purchased to match the original, larger urn, as the smaller ones are designed to be similar or identical in appearance.
Cremation keepsakes are an intimate way to bring a family together in mourning, and allow us all an opportunity to mourn, remember, and appreciate, in our very own ways.
